Winter/Spring Recap

Whew, it's been a busy few months, but I figure I better do a recap now before all the visitors arrive and I'm behind!
Zoo, Bird Park, & Aquarium
What recap is complete with a few visits to the zoo and bird park in there? Definite favorites, and we still manage to do a few new things each time. Saw the dog and cat show at the zoo (won't be repeating it), petted some bunnies, and fed lorries and penguins at the bird park. We also renewed our aquarium membership and enjoyed revisiting our old friends there! This time Cora was a huge fan.

East Coast Bike Ride
We rented some bikes and went for a short bike ride along the coast. We all loved it, except for Corabelle. Turns out she was getting 3 molars at once and we didn't realize it, so maybe we will give her another shot sometime!

Gardens by the Bay
Another favorite. After the class playdate we planned failed, Olivia, Emmeline, and Shreya had their own playdate. Since Olivia moved back to the US a few weeks later, it was a nice way to spend a morning with her! We returned a few months later with some other friends from Emmeline's class, Ruby and Poppy, on one of their off days of school. Always fun!

Sentosa
Many random weekends with nothing planned, we head to the beach on Sentosa for a few hours. This time we decided to walk to the island which is the southern most tip of continental Asia.

A few weekends later was a free inflatable party on the beach, and Emmeline loved doing all of the high slides over and over again!

Sadly, Palawan Pirate Ship, closed for good, so we had one last play there before we said goodbye. Teddy and Josie joined in on the fun, and since it was a cloudy morning, we practically had the entire place to ourselves!

Botanics Garden Concerts
Despite the heat, there's nothing quite like a picnic in the park. Every few months there's a concert at Botanics Garden, and we really enjoy picnicking, enjoying some music, and letting the kids play (and sweating).

Fire Station Tour
Every Saturday morning, the fire stations around town offer free guided tours, so one weekend we decided to check it out with Teddy. They loved seeing all the trucks, trying on uniforms, and sitting in the truck. Sadly, the water was turned off when we visited, so they didn't get to try the hose. Next time!

Goodbye Oliver
Several of our friends are starting to leave Singapore and head back to their home countries. Oliver, Johanna, and Andreas were the first. Cora and Oliver had one last play at our favorite mall playground (Paragon) before they flew out for Sweden.

Neighborhood Walks
One day a week now, I am trying to explore a new area of town. As soon as I put Emmeline on the bus, we head out before the heat sets in. I started with Tanjong Pagar, as it's not too far from me and filled with beautiful old shophouses! Also found some of my favorite coffee here!

Sentosa Movie on the Beach
This year we were able to attend one of the outdoor movies on the beach. The setting it just stunning, and it was a fun evening of catching up with friends and watching an (average) movie.
