Grandma Jackie & Charla Visit

Our first visitors! Grandma Jackie and Charla had some rough luck with their flights on both ends, but we made the best of our time in Singapore together. It was some of the first times I had seen some of the "sights" of Singapore, too!
Gardens by the Bay and Sentosa are musts for anyone's list, but are frequent stops for us since they are so kid friendly! Emmeline always loves the splashpad and the Pirate Ship. And, of course, Satay by the Bay. We also took them to the zoo, which turned out to be an overcast day, perfect for not melting away!

 

  

 

 

We spent a fair bit of time swimming and playing at the condo, and of course eating our way through Singapore. Lots of hawker food, and even some new foods for us!

 

 

After returning from Rawa, we checked out the Botanic Gardens, which we hadn't really been to before. They are huge and so pretty! The orchid garden ended up being free for us that weekend, and it was an impressive display of so many types of orchids!

 

 

My first trip to Chinatown meant everyone got some souvenirs. Even Emmeline got some new chopsticks, which we put to good use for dinner there. After rain foiled our attempt for a river cruise, we ended up just walking to see the Merlion before they headed back to the States. A good first round of visitors, can't wait for the next ones!

  

 

 






Nick and I also got to escape for a few dates nights, one to Smoke and Mirrors for drinks overlooking the city, and one to a fantastic Greek restaurant in our neighborhood! Nom nom!
